The Gathering Forces

As Halloween approaches in two more days, the Bobster is getting antsy!! I only mention this because we are aiming our departure for Veterans Day, the 11th, instead of Thanksgiving, the 24th.

My own time panic is starting up because of all the phoning I have to do to services, utilities, etc. to shut off as much stuff as possible.
Bob has been busy for months modifying things for our traveling enjoyment. We have a new refrigerator with a narrow roll-out cupboard for storage. I think these will be great additions.

A SMALL DIVERSION

Near the end of September, Bob and I went to The Dalles to attend the 55th reunion of the high school class of 1956. We had been planning on participating in both nights’ activities, but the air conditioning in the RV quit on us and we were having some very hot days. We didn’t drive to The Dalles until Saturday, the 24th, for the evening’s festivities at a local winery.

We enjoyed the visiting, appetizers, and wine; but the taking of the class photo is always a big production! Afterwards, those interested in continuing the same activities, gathered at a classmates house up on the bluff. The Dalles Dam at night was quite pretty with the lights reflected in the river.

We managed to sleep without air conditioning in the RV as it was parked on the side of the road in front of the classmate’s house.

Sunday morning activity was enjoying a very filling breakfast at Cousin’s restaurant. Then we had the long drive home. Fortunately, it had clouded over so it wasn’t so hot.

Wintering in Baja

Bob and I are headed once more for the balmy, warm
beaches of Baja, Mexico. We plan our departure for the end of November and our return by the end of April.
This will be the third year that we will enjoy dry camping on Coyote Beach. I have wanted to start a blog in previous years but bogged down in the fiddly bits.

Coyote Beach

To this end, I am now taking an online course thru
PCC on how to set up a blog!! YEAH!!!!  That is why you have received an invite now (more that 1 month before we leave) as it is part of the process. I do hope you will bear with me and participate with me in this blog.

The intent of this blog is to inform you, our friends and family, on how we are doing south of the border. Perhaps I can share some of the flavor of the beach~~our favorite vendors, activities on the beach and in town, and some of the bizarre and some ordinary!

I am hoping to set up this blog so that when there is a
new posting, you will receive an email notifying you of such. You’ve probably gathered as much from the initial email you have already received. From there, you can go to the blog, ignore it, delete it, or unsubscribe. The number of photos I can send depends on the broadband available and speed of connection, I think!

Bay of Conception
And so ends my first official blog. Once we leave on this
Trip, I intend to make weekly posts. Since we’re not taking off until Thanksgiving, my second post will take awhile.
