ADJUSTING
This is home (or "The Home")

Returning to the great and beautiful Pacific Northwest involves more than acclimating to the weather! I still can't find half the things I "tucked" away before we left.
This is the Suzuki.

Our first order of business, even before taxes, was to replace the Suzuki. We chose a new, ice blue Toyota Yaris. It's fun to drive, has a lot of zip.

Our cute little car.

Of course, what's special for me is my two grand daughters'.Josie is eight and Daisy is one.

SETTLING IN

Well, after placing the Suzuki in storage, we had
a long six-day drive to get home to Portland!!!
Bob and I both agree that when we first came to Baja 6 years ago, we thought the desert that is the peninsula was very stark, barren and rather ugly. In the short years since, we have come to admire the beauty of the desert achieved with very little rain!

There is a very large area in the middle of Baja which is covered by boulder fields! It seems that
geologists do not know how these boulder fields came to be. Our job is merely to appreciate them.

Because of the rain the peninsula received in October and in March to the north, the desert put on a display of beautiful wild flowers in ground covers and blooming cacti.

ODDS AND ENDS

Thought I would make another blog entry now that we have been back home for two weeks. I have some more photos to share and, I find, I like to see myself in print!!!

Pearl, showing a little cheesecake!
Ann, working her large seagrass basket.

Bob's superb strawberry crepes.

When we left Coyote beach, we went south to Loreto and Rivera del Mar rv park for a week. It was a relaxing time and different to be in town rather than on the beach. We explored different restaurants and went back to our favorites!
You know I can't resist one more Coyote sunrise!
The morning fire with Canada Bob, Wendy and Larry.
!
Christmas eve fireworks
Pearl and Chris, leaving the beach.

The trip north was uneventful. We stopped at the storage place in Mulege and parked the Suzuki in its spot, hooked up the trailer to the rv and turned north.
My Suzuki, off to storage.

The rv photo was supposed to be here, but it decided it wanted to be the first photo and I wasn't able to change it!!!
