SAYING GOODBYE
Ann and Lynn at the "last" happy hour; the dog is "Smitty".

This past week or two has been full of packing, deflating, cleaning, throwing away, etc in preparation for moving on. After a full week of hard blowing,we had hot, windless days that were insect laden.
I don't remember what Pat and I were giggling and snorting about!
Tom and Pat~~Patty and Bob Bounder
Gary and Court celebrating their birthday.
Patty and Janell voicing their goodbyes.

Before I end this post, I would like to show a few photos of the town and our beach.

This is the official archway entrance to Mulege which as you see, is actually named Heroica Mulege.

This photo was taken from an airplane by Pedro Cebulka. The skies were hazy that day but you can make out the larger left arch which is Coyote Beach; the other smaller arch is El Burro Beach.

A relative closeup of the south end of Coyote where we like to spend the winter.

WINDING DOWN

Our program of crafts this season were interesting and fun! We almost always had a good time in class even as we cursed our crappy abilities in fashioning that week's craft. I present now some photoes that I may or may not have posted before!!

Lynn, our instructor for the craft classes
Nan, showing her first gourd of the season!
Lynn, not the instructor, with her first gourd.

Deb, her gourd became a bird feeder.
Me, with my lovely round, green gourd!!

Lynn and I comparing gourds.

Ann, completing her gourd.
Pearl, getting a late start with her gourd!

Lynn, with the first sea grass basket of this season
Someone's sea grass basket.
This next grouping is of kelp sewn into pouches. The "fringe',
when dry, will shoot out in all directions.
Another interesting interpretation; our instructor said there are
no mistakes in crafting, only opportunity!
This is my kelp pouch/basket!

THIS AND THAT

In February I posted some photos of the volunteer tomato plant that I have been tending since Christmas. It has been growing and the tomatoes ripening. The birds have greatly enjoyed the ripe fruit and I thought, "What the heck....who more deserving of the beach flora than the beach fauna?!"

I have been to the last craft class for me this season. I finally managed to finish my gourd!! I am actually pleased with how it turned out! The following photos are of the crafts we did this season:
Says "Kay's Krafts", in case you couldn't tell.

The open work was very different for me!
This is the back side of the gourd.
The large seagrass basket

The wirewrapping on the bottle was the craft that week.
My sea kelp pouch~~kinda cute!

I found this piece of gridded styrofoam on a beach and put various small shells in the openings. I rather like how it came out.

Can you stand one more Coyote Beach sunset?

BUSY TIMES, SOCIAL TIMES

The two Bobs
On February 22, there were two Bobs on the beach celebrating birthdays. We gathered at a new beach-site restaurant to celebrate.

Barb-not her birthday!
Joan-this is the birthday girl!
The next day we went to a different restaurant for another birthday celebration.

This past weekend we declared a girls' day and 4 of us drove down to Loreto on Saturday for an Art Show. Our two instructors of the craft class were in the art show and we all ended up buying something.

Since high winds were continuing on the beach curtailing any outside activities, Doug and Lynn, and Bob and I decided to go to Loreto for the day and check out other RV parks.
