AND SO IT CONTINUES...
As all things must!
We've had more cloudy, windy days than usual, but when we have a colorful sunrise, it is
always worth the wait!!
The recent full moon
has caused record high and low tides.
The high tides cover the first curve of the beach access road. Although cars can still drive through, walkers have resorted to the bypass tunnel.
We who walk this route consider the tunnel just another adventure here on the beach!
Here is the tunnel approach from the other side:
Adios, for now.

HOME AT LAST
For half the year, anyway
We thought camp setup would be easier this year since everything was stored down here. Memory (or the lack of it)
plays a big part here. After days of yelling and screeching: where is it? where did you put it? did we keep one?
where is there any room for it? etc, etc.
I discovered the Montana hairdresser, Pat, was on the next beach. I went over to get a haircut and asked for a spike
hair style. I like it a lot and he also used some colored chalk on it. The color is subtle but fun. It washes right out.

You can kind of make out the pink and yellow tones. |

SPRING HAS SPRUNG?
Adventures traveling home
Most of our evenings are tinged a lovely pink. |
The craft class held at Posada didn't start this season until March so I was only
there for two sessions. I was glad to be able to work with a gourd again. I decided not
to cut it thereby saving time by not having to clean and scrape the inside. I think it
turned out rather nicely.
These gourds belong to other class
members. I had never heard of an apple-shaped gourd before. The apple gourd turned out to
be quite versatile!
All of the gourds you see on the
table are apple gourds.
And so we left the beach in the middle of March to spend a week in Loreto
before flying home to PDX in Oregon.
The action figures to the right we found in the sand early in our stay. They stuck with us no matter the weather. Here they are waving Adios.

WHAT LIGHT THROUGH YONDER WINDOW BREAKS?
Who the Hell knows or cares?
Now....after posting a photo of one of our beautiful sunrises, I'm going to deal with a problem I had this year---my hair.
Not many people have the interest in my hair as I do and that's to be understood!
I left Portland near the end of October without getting my hair cut and/or styled. I then got a cut around mid-November which removed a lot of the perm in my hair.
So, there I was left with a mop getting longer and looking messier.
First week on the beach. |
Haircut after 1st month on the beach. |
After another 3 and 1/2 months of hair growth and no perm, my "do" was a mass of straw--I was trying
to wait until I got back home to do anything about it. We heard that Pat, the hairdresser from Montana, was at the next beach to the north, so I got an appt. I explained to him that I had no perm and could he cut it in a style that I could maintain until I got home.
So I post pictures of what he did!!!
So....what do you think? I think it's a keeper myself!

ROCK GARDEN It's a matter of balance.
Earlier this year someone started stacking rocks in unusual ways along the access road to the south end of Coyote beach. Here are some examples:
I am particularly fond of the arches that someone put together. They look easy but I'm sure that more than one person has to be involved.

HAS IT BEEN A MONTH?
Trying to keep up!
This photo was sent to me by Genevieve of the french family featured in
a previous blog. After crossing
the border which they had been nervous about, the frenchies went to Jim and Elena's (the Hobie Cat engineer)
who were also the subject of a previous blog. Surely looks like they are having a great time and toasting us
with their Margaritas!!!
This is Josie, my granddaughter who became 10 in January. She is in the 4th grade and likes to play soft ball and basketball.

A LITTLE THIS AND THAT
Minutia on the beach!
Still love those Baja sunrises!
Notice the cross supports to the
rear and the middle. They are not
supposed to be v-shaped. The
trailer was a little overloaded in
coming down and we were lucky
to get here without falling apart.
Bob has had it rewelded and
supported since then!
Our friend, the stick bug!
Many days can be very windy here, so
we try to stay out of it.
The above 3 pictures are the maiden testing of the electric motor for our boat. The motor works great and it's fun to watch people's
faces when we cruise by without pedaling or paddling!
Christmas had the luminaries on the beach and a few lighted Christmas ships cruised by
with music.
Norm was festive with his hat.
Barb and Dody wore hair bows.
And we had a terrific Christmas potluck.
