The light colored flat slab is what the front tire was wedged against.
REVISITING THE SCENE!

As you may remember, last November I drove the Suzuki down here mostly following Bob in the RV. For 6 days I drove with no problems enjoying the peace and quiet. The very next day after arriving at the beach, I was driving into town when I encountered difficulties. The road along the river to the water store had been partly washed out during the hurricane but had been filled in so it was passable. My memory is that as soon as the car left the pavement, my front tires were in soft sand and kept sliding toward the river no matter what I tried and it would not go backwards (front wheel drive, you know). And thus my right front tire became truly wedged down in a ditch. I was upset at the time that I had not brought my camera. So I finally this week took some pictures of the road.

This last Sunday a neighboring beach called CoCo's held a horseshoe tournament. Most people drove over, but a few of us boated over. It was a perfect sunny, warm, and windless day.
